Art Basel held its 47th edition from 16 to 19 June, in Basel, Switzerland. It is the most important contemporary art fair in the world. Two hundred and eighty six galleries, chosen by a committee of six glariest, come from different places around the world. The fair gathers over 400 artists with different artistic techniques: painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, graphic arts, photography, video art and performance which can be found throughout the installation of Messe Basel.
The most important galleries include: Blondeau & Cie, Genova; Mitchell-Innes & Nash, New York; Meyer Riegger, Berlin; Galerie Neugerriemschneider, Berlin; Galleria Franco Noero, Turin and Galerie Eva Presenhuber, Zúrich. The Spanish galleries participate in the fair are Galería Elvira González, Madrid; espaivisor, Valencia; Maisterravalbuena, Madrid; Polígrafa Obra Gràfica, Barcelona; Galería Helga de Alvear, Madrid; Galería Juana de Aizpuru, Madrid and ProjecteSD, Barcelona.

It is important to note the role played by the Art Unlimited section in the fair which proposes monumental pieces, performances and installation works which are aimed to suit museums and institutional spaces. This year Art Unlimited presents around the Munster (Basel Cathedral) with pieces by Michael Dean, Alberto Garutti , Alfredo Jaar , Virginia Overton or Tracey Rose, among others.

At the same time, fairs such as Basel Volta, Scope Basel, The Solo Project, Liste and Photo Basel, which is the first trade fair in Switzerland exclusively dedicated to photography, are held in the country. Fifteen Spanish galleries will participate in those fairs.
