THE 3RD EDITION OF THE A&G ART PRIZE BEGINS

COMIENZA LA III EDICIÓN DEL PREMIO DE ARTE A&G

A&G launches the third edition of the A&G Art Prize. Following the success of the first and second editions, A&G is launching this third edition, whose main objective is to promote the production and dissemination of the work of emerging Spanish artists. This edition will once again have the collaboration of Arte Global, a firm specialising in international art consultancy, dedicated to art collecting and cultural management projects. Alberto Rodríguez-Fraile, president of A&G, says: “We continue to strengthen our commitment to culture with this third edition of the A&G Art Prize to support artists in their early days. We want to offer them the possibility of promoting their works, enhancing the recognition and prestige of their work.”

The A&G Prize will select 1 winner and 5 finalists, whose works will be exhibited for one year, with the option of being sold to the public, at the A&G headquarters at Paseo de la Castellana 92 (Madrid). This award also entails a financial prize of €6,000 for the winning work.

Those interested, who can consult the rules of the Prize at www.ayg.es/actualidad, have until July 3 to submit their applications, while the jury's decision will be made on September 14. The award is decided by a jury chaired by Elisa Hernando, CEO of Arte Global, and made up of 10 members related to the art world in different areas.

The winner of the first prize will be able to exhibit a total of 3 works in the A&G exhibition rooms for one year: the winning work and 2 more chosen by A&G after the jury's decision. The 5 finalists will exhibit 2 works each: the finalist work and another chosen by A&G.

In the two previous calls, around 100 applications were received each, and the artists awarded the A&G Art Prize were Maíllo in 2021 and Rubén Rodrigo in 2022. Their works, together with those of the five finalists from each edition (Álvaro Borobio, Cristina Gamón, Elvira Amor, Federico Miró, Pablo Mercado, Olimpia Velasco, Jorge Isla, Silvia Olabarría, José Moñú and Oli Berg), have been on display for a year at the A&G headquarters.
