Eduardo Úrculo Fernández was a Spanish artist. He was born in Santurce, Vizcaya, in 1938 and died in Madrid in 2003. As a child, he lived in Sama de Langreo, Asturias, a mining area that shaped his first works. He studied in Madrid, at the Círculo de Bellas Artes and the National School of Graphic Arts. Later, he continued his training in Paris at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière.

His work included painting, sculpture, drawing, illustration, and prints. At the beginning, he worked in a social figurative style, linked to the industrial and working-class world of Asturias. Later, he moved closer to Pop Art, with strong colors and clear images: suitcases, hats, bodies, travelers, chairs, daily objects, and references to travel. He also made public sculptures, including works placed in Madrid, Oviedo, Villaviciosa, Barcelona, and Puerto del Rosario.

His work is part of collections such as IVAM, the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Madrid, the Eduardo Úrculo Municipal Art Gallery in Langreo, and the Banco Santander Collection. In the institutional sources consulted, I did not find personal awards that were clear enough to verify, so I have not included them as confirmed facts.
