Eva Armisén

Eva Armisén is a Spanish artist, born in Zaragoza in 1969. She has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. She also studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and received a grant from the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation in Palma de Mallorca. She lives and works in Barcelona.

Her work focuses on turning daily life into a close, emotional, and special experience. Painting and printmaking are common media in her practice, although she has also worked on public art, advertising, film, television, publishing, and illustration projects. Her international career includes exhibitions and projects in Europe, Asia, and the United States, with a presence in cities such as Seoul, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Singapore, Lisbon, Taipei, Shanghai, and Melbourne.

In 2016, she took part in the candidacy of the Haenyeo, women divers from Jeju Island, for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. In 2017, she illustrated the book Mom is a Haenyeo. Her work is part of collections such as Banco Santander, Ibercaja, the Government of Aragón, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation, the Museum of Contemporary Spanish Printmaking, the National Library, Guanjiu Museum of Art, and Gana Art Park Children Museum. Her awards include the Heraldo de Aragón Fine Arts Prize in 2020, the MIA Award in 2024, and the SONOR Award for best innovation podcast for Som com som in 2025.
