Rafa Macarrón is a Spanish artist (Madrid, Spain, 1981) who lives and works in Madrid. Self-taught in art and professionally trained as a physiotherapist, he has developed a career focused primarily on painting and drawing.

His work combines figuration and abstraction through characters with deformed anatomies, elongated limbs, and intense colors. His compositions construct imaginary scenes in which references to comics, animation, and art history coexist, with special attention to the body and everyday situations.

He has presented his work at institutions such as the CAC Málaga, the Alicante Museum of Contemporary Art, and DA2 in Salamanca. His work is part of collections such as the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art and the BMW Foundation. In 2010, he received the 25th BMW Painting Award for his work Los 3 mosquiteros.
