MATERIALS AND CARE

 Recommendations for proper conservation of works of art:

  • Keep artwork away from direct sunlight and any other heat sources (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Avoid hanging artwork near areas with smoke and pollution (such as fireplaces or kitchens). We recommend protecting your artwork with a glass frame.

Avoid sudden temperature changes. It is recommended to store paintings in areas with a room temperature of 18-20°C and 50% relative humidity.

If you want to permanently illuminate the work, we recommend using cold light sources. Use a soft duster for periodic cleaning. Never use household cleaners.
SHIPPING AND RETURNS

Shipping usually takes around 7 days. Shipping costs are determined based on the gallery's location and the size of the artwork. Packaging material costs are included.

Purchases made through Arte Global’s website (www.arteglobal.es) can be canceled within 24 hours. After this period, the purchase is considered final.

Esta obra forma parte de una serie original de quince nuevos linograbados asociados a los bajorrelieves de madera de la serie Bilongue (2015). El conjunto explora la relación entre el ser humano y la naturaleza a través de figuras híbridas y motivos vegetales que habitan un universo a la vez onírico y orgánico.

Los linograbados combinan formas mutantes y elementos botánicos en composiciones de gran fuerza simbólica, donde la transformación y la interconexión de los seres vivos ocupan un lugar central. Desde el punto de vista gráfico, estas obras evocan los célebres sellos monumentales del artista, compartiendo la misma economía de medios, la contundencia del trazo y una notable capacidad narrativa. Cada impresión se convierte así en un gesto simbólico que articula memoria, identidad y compromiso, reafirmando el interés del artista por las relaciones entre cultura, territorio y naturaleza.

Barthélémy Toguo es un artista contemporáneo camerunés nacido en M’Balmayo en 1967. Estudió en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de Abiyán, Costa de Marfil, y en la Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de Grenoble, Francia. Actualmente vive y trabaja entre París y Camerún.El trabajo de Toguo aborda temas como la identidad, la política, la cultura y la globalización, y utiliza una variedad de medios, incluyendo pintura, dibujo, escultura, instalaciones, fotografía y video. Su trabajo se caracteriza por su compromiso con cuestiones sociales y políticas, y su capacidad para combinar elementos de la cultura africana con referencias a la cultura global.Toguo ha expuesto su obra en todo el mundo, incluyendo en la Bienal de Venecia, la Documenta de Kassel, la Bienal de Sydney, la Trienal de Guangzhou, la Bienal de Gwangju y la Bienal de Dakar. También ha tenido exposiciones individuales en instituciones como el Museo de Arte de Cleveland, el Museo de Arte de São Paulo, el Centro Pompidou y la Fundación Blachère.Además de su trabajo como artista, Toguo también es fundador de Bandjoun Station, un centro cultural y de arte en Camerún que promueve la colaboración y el intercambio cultural entre artistas africanos y de todo el mundo. A través de su trabajo, Toguo ha hecho importantes contribuciones a la comprensión y promoción del arte africano contemporáneo y su papel en el diálogo global.
