The jury of the 5th A&G Art Prize has selected El Camino del Tiempo, by artist María Esteve Trull, as the winning work of the fifth edition of the competition organized by the organization. The five finalists chosen by the jury were: Chus García-Fraile, Enrique González, Gonhdo, Laura Hernández Pérez, and José Antonio Montecino Prada.
With a record 150 applications received in this edition, the A&G Art Prize is gaining traction and establishing itself as one of the leading art competitions in Spain. In total, more than 400 candidates have applied to receive the award in these five editions, reinforcing A&G's mission to promote the production and dissemination of emerging artists' work.
The winning work by María Esteve Trull (El camino de tiempo, 2025) aims to "establish a profound dialogue with the landscape. Her work does not seek to represent nature, but rather to be affected by it, transforming the experience of the environment into pictorial material. Through walking, contact with the ground, and careful observation, María turns her body into a perceptive and creative tool." In recognition, the artist will receive a prize of €6,000 and her piece will become part of the A&G collection.
This award underscores A&G's social commitment and support for culture. Its president, Alberto Rodríguez-Fraile, stated: "At A&G, we are very pleased with the recognition's consolidation. We want to continue holding this award for many years to come and continue highlighting and recognizing the work of emerging artists in our country."
For her part, Elisa Hernando, CEO of Arte Global, the international art consultancy firm with which A&G has collaborated on this project since its inception, emphasized: “The fact that we broke the record for nominations in this 5th edition is further proof of how this award has become a benchmark for emerging artists, and we are proud to support and advise A&G in this initiative of such great social impact. The art world needs more private initiatives like this.”
