David Nash (United Kingdom, 1945). Born in Esher, England, he studied at the Kingston School of Art and the Chelsea School of Art in London. After graduating in 1967, he spent a year at the University of California, Davis, where he was influenced by the work of Robert Arneson and Bruce Nauman.

His practice focuses on wood sculpture and installations in natural landscapes. Since settling in Wales in the 1970s, he has created large-scale works using wood and other natural materials. His artistic practice is also linked to his environmental commitment, which includes planting more than 20,000 trees on a plot of land in Wales.

In 1980, he won the Liverpool John Moores Foundation Prize for "Round Tower", which was acquired by the Tate Gallery in London, and in 2004 he was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). He has exhibited at the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo, the San Francisco Museum of Art, and the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. In 2009, the Yorkshire Art Museum presented a retrospective of his work.
