Domènec

Domènec (Spain, 1962) is a visual artist who works with sculpture, photography, video, installations, and interventions in public spaces. His work approaches the architectural project as one of the most complex imaginary constructions of modernity.

His career maintains a constant dialogue between past and present, based on a reexamination of modern architecture and its current presence. Through research into the past and the mistakes made, he highlights the failure of utopias and examines the ideological, political, and economic components of large-scale architectural and urban projects.

In 2018, MACBA presented his solo exhibition "Not Here, Not Anywhere". His work and videos have been shown at institutions such as the New Museum of Contemporary Art and Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York, and the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. He has also held exhibitions and carried out projects in Ireland, Mexico, Belgium, France, Italy, the United States, Israel, Palestine, Argentina, Finland, Japan, and Brazil.
