Isabel Muñoz

Isabel Muñoz is a Spanish photographer (Barcelona, ​​Spain, 1951) who has lived in Madrid since 1970. She began her photographic training at Photocentro and developed an international career centered on portraiture, the body, and cultural diversity. Since her early series, she has worked in various settings across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.

Her style is characterized by a quest for beauty and the language of the body. Through her images, she seeks to capture the forms, gestures, and movements of the human figure. Her work addresses diverse cultural and social phenomena.

Her work is held in collections such as the Museo Reina Sofía, the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, and the New Museum in New York. Notable accolades include two World Press Photo awards, the PHotoESPAÑA Bartolomé Ros Award (2009), the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts (2009), and the National Photography Award (2016).
