María Jesús de Frutos is a Spanish artist (Segovia, Spain, 1949) trained in teaching and decoration, and later in drawing and painting at the Nieves Solana School in Madrid. After an initial period dedicated to teaching, she returned to her artistic career and developed a body of work focused primarily on painting.

Her work explores figures, portraits, landscapes, still lifes, and reinterpretations of Las Meninas, with a special focus on color and the female figure. Her paintings are inspired by personal experiences and everyday scenes, created through a highly expressive figurative style.

She has exhibited at institutions such as Casa de Vacas, Torreón de Lozoya, the Antonio Gala Foundation, and the MIRA Cultural Center in Pozuelo de Alarcón. Her work is part of collections such as the Museum of Drawing at Castillo de Larrés, as well as other institutional and private collections in Spain and abroad.
