Nico Munuera

Nico Munuera is a Spanish artist (Lorca, Murcia, Spain, 1974), whose practice focuses mainly on abstract painting. He trained at the San Carlos Faculty of Fine Arts in Valencia and has developed a visual research into color, light, space, and the processes of painting itself.

His work is known for chromatic surfaces, washes, layers, and tonal variations that build a perceptual experience of the image. Although his compositions sometimes evoke landscapes, horizons, or atmospheric phenomena, Munuera works from an abstract approach, focused on the relationship between pictorial matter, the gaze, and time.

His work is part of collections such as the Banco de España Collection, Fundación ENAIRE, Fundación Barrié, Fundación “la Caixa”, and Fundación Caja Mediterráneo. He has presented exhibitions in institutions such as IVAM, Museo de Bellas Artes de Murcia, Sala Verónicas, CGAC, Museo Patio Herreriano, MACA, Fundación Bancaja, and Es Baluard Museu.
