Pedro Cano is a Spanish painter (Murcia, Spain, 1944). He began painting in oil on his own from a very young age and, in 1965, entered the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid with a grant from the Provincial Council of Murcia. In 1969, he received a landscape painting grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to study at the Spanish Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, a city that played a decisive role in his career.

His work is mainly developed through painting, watercolor, and drawing. Landscape, Mediterranean light, the Murcian orchard, travel, and daily life are central references in his work. His images invite calm observation of the relationship between memory, nature, architecture, and personal experience.

The Pedro Cano Foundation, located in Blanca, is dedicated to preserving, exhibiting, and sharing his work. His awards include the Gold Medal at the Florence Biennial of Painting and Sculpture in 1971, the Gold Medal at the Florence Biennial of Graphic Arts in 1972, his appointment as Favorite Son of Blanca in 1986, his admission as a full member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Santa María de la Arrixaca in Murcia in 2001, and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2022.
