Xisco Mensua

Xisco Mensua was a Spanish artist, born in Barcelona in 1960 and died in Rocafort, Valencia, in 2025. He developed a practice linked to painting, drawing, collage, and publishing, with a reflective language in which time, memory, poetry, philosophy, education, childhood, and the media appear as constant references.

His work is known for its use of references, words, layered compositions, and the relationship between image and thought. Through drawings, paintings, collages, and polyptychs, Mensua created a poetic and critical world, attentive to the fragility of experience, reading, art history, and the way images create meaning.

His works are part of collections such as the Museo Reina Sofía, Fundación “la Caixa”, IVAM, MUSAC, CAC Málaga, Fundación Coca-Cola, Universitat de València, Museo de Bellas Artes de Álava, Museo de Bellas Artes de Asturias, Fundación Chirivella Soriano, Fundação Paço d’Arcos, Artium Museoa, CA2M, and the Banco Sabadell Collection.
