Information about the work

Composition A L'Horloge is part of the book of prints Trente Ans D'Activité, a collection that brings together works by some of the most prominent artists of the time and was completed on July 4, 1971. The artists include Jean Arp, Lynn Chadwick, Marc Chagall, Max Ernst, Henri Matisse, André Masson, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, among others. This print by Marc Chagall represents his characteristic style, where the poetic and the surreal intertwine. The work shows an imaginative clock, a floral bouquet, and figures that appear to float, merging fantastical elements with reality. The delicacy of the line and the etching technique generate a richly textured and dreamy atmosphere, transporting the viewer to Chagall's mystical universe.

Marc Chagall was a Russian-French artist of Jewish origin, born in Vitebsk in 1887 and died in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France, in 1985. He trained first in his hometown and then in Saint Petersburg. In 1910, he moved to Paris, where he came into contact with the modern avant-garde and artists associated with the School of Paris.

His work encompassed painting, drawing, printmaking, set design, costume design, ceramics, mosaics, and stained glass. Although influenced by Cubism, Fauvism, Symbolism, and Surrealism, he developed his own unique style, characterized by intense color, dreamlike scenes, floating figures, and memories of Jewish life in Vitebsk. His main themes were love, spirituality, memory, music, biblical tradition, and the folk culture of his childhood.

His work is part of collections such as MoMA, the Guggenheim Museum, the Tate, the Centre Pompidou, the National Gallery of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Stedelijk Museum, and the Musée National Marc Chagall in Nice. During World War II, he went into exile in the United States and returned to France in 1948. Among his verifiable awards is the Grand Cross of the French Legion of Honor, which he received in 1977.

- Luis Eduardo Ruiz Santiago

I was treated with absolute transparency via WhatsApp; they knew a lot about the art market and framing. The lithograph arrived today with great care, in a cardboard tube wrapped in onionskin paper. It looks just like the photo! But the size wasn't perfect for me; they need to improve that aspect. A very good virtual experience!

- Marta Vilchez

I have found a product/work that satisfies me and the most correct commercial treatment.
