Information about the work

The connection between Mickey Mouse and the world of ghosts has been part of Disney’s history since its earliest days. In 1929, Mickey encountered skeletons and apparitions in The Haunted House, and in 1937 he faced spirits once again alongside Donald and Goofy in Les Revenants Solitaires. That image of Mickey dressed as a ghost inspired this sculpture by Daniel Arsham, an artist born in Cleveland in 1980 and based in New York. Crafted from hollow resin and created in collaboration with Disney Collection and Perrotin, the work measures 41 x 43 x 44 cm and is part of a limited edition of 500 numbered pieces.

Daniel Arsham is an North American visual artist born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1980. He was raised in Miami, Florida, and studied at The Cooper Union in New York, where he received the Gelman Trust Fellowship Award in 2003. He currently lives and works in New York. His practice lies at the intersection of art, architecture, and performance, and is realized through sculpture, installation, drawing, film, and architectural intervention.

His work is known for what the artist and his galleries describe as “fictional archaeology”: contemporary objects that appear eroded, crystallized, or transformed into relics of the future. His installations feature weathered walls, staircases leading nowhere, and structures where nature seems to encroach upon architecture. Using materials such as sand, selenite, or volcanic ash, Arsham explores ideas related to time, memory, ruin, and the permanence of objects.

He has exhibited at institutions such as MoMA PS1, The New Museum, the Athens Biennale, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Miami, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, and Carré d’Art in Nîmes.

In addition to his solo work, Arsham has collaborated with figures in the fields of dance, music, and design. He worked as a set designer for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company and collaborated with choreographer Jonah Bokaer on projects presented at venues such as The New Museum, IVAM, the Hellenic Festival, Jacob’s Pillow, and the Avignon Festival. In 2013, he collaborated with Pharrell Williams to recreate his first keyboard using volcanic ash. His verifiable accolades include the Gelman Trust Fellowship Award and the GNMH Award. His work is part of collections such as the Centre Pompidou, Walker Art Center, Pérez Art Museum Miami, Museum of Contemporary Art Miami, DIOR Collection, Louis Vuitton Collection, Musée Guimet, and Blanton Museum of Art.

Quick and clear response. Delivery times were met as agreed. Shipping was carried out with great care: protection of the artwork, documentation, etc. Everything was fine. This is striking because the opposite is common. Rating: EXCELLENCE

Impeccable. Always attentive to their customers and exceptional service. Highly recommended.

- Luis Eduardo Ruiz Santiago

I was treated with absolute transparency via WhatsApp; they knew a lot about the art market and framing. The lithograph arrived today with great care, in a cardboard tube wrapped in onionskin paper. It looks just like the photo! But the size wasn't perfect for me; they need to improve that aspect. A very good virtual experience!

- Marta Vilchez

I have found a product/work that satisfies me and the most correct commercial treatment.
