MATERIALS AND CARE

 Recommendations for proper conservation of works of art:

  • Keep artwork away from direct sunlight and any other heat sources (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Avoid hanging artwork near areas with smoke and pollution (such as fireplaces or kitchens). We recommend protecting your artwork with a glass frame.

Avoid sudden temperature changes. It is recommended to store paintings in areas with a room temperature of 18-20°C and 50% relative humidity.

If you want to permanently illuminate the work, we recommend using cold light sources. Use a soft duster for periodic cleaning. Never use household cleaners.
SHIPPING AND RETURNS

Shipping usually takes around 7 days. Shipping costs are determined based on the gallery's location and the size of the artwork. Packaging material costs are included.

Purchases made through Arte Global’s website (www.arteglobal.es) can be canceled within 24 hours. After this period, the purchase is considered final.

Luis Gordillo (Seville, 1934) is one of Spain's best-known and most critically acclaimed artists. In this 1991 etching, the artist explores the relationships between organic organisms and forms of abstract language. He arranges the work in forms that straddle the cellular aspect and free abstraction, maintaining a symmetrical and balanced composition and a natural fluidity. The work is complemented by subtle olive and gray tones, almost reminiscent of a microscopic observation of organic cells, reinterpreted in Gordillo's characteristic abstract style.

Luis Gordillo (Seville, Spain, 1934) is a leading figure in contemporary Spanish painting. He studied Fine Arts in Seville and, in the late 1950s, travelled to Paris, where he came into contact with Informalism and the European avant-gardes. He later moved closer to Pop Art and new figuration, exercising an important influence on later generations of Spanish artists.

His work develops through a constant dialogue between figuration and abstraction, with special attention to the transformation and repetition of images. He works with painting, drawing, photography, and collage, using resources such as seriality, doubling, fragmentation, and color. Throughout his career, he has combined references to Informalism, Pop, and geometry within a language in continuous transformation.

His work is part of collections such as Museo Reina Sofía, MACBA, IVAM, and Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo. He has presented exhibitions in institutions such as IVAM, MACBA, Museum Folkwang, and Museo Reina Sofía. His awards include the National Prize for Visual Arts in 1981, the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 1996, and the Velázquez Prize for Visual Arts in 2007. Leer menos
