MATERIALS AND CARE

 Recommendations for proper conservation of works of art:

  • Keep artwork away from direct sunlight and any other heat sources (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Avoid hanging artwork near areas with smoke and pollution (such as fireplaces or kitchens). We recommend protecting your artwork with a glass frame.

Avoid sudden temperature changes. It is recommended to store paintings in areas with a room temperature of 18-20°C and 50% relative humidity.

If you want to permanently illuminate the work, we recommend using cold light sources. Use a soft duster for periodic cleaning. Never use household cleaners.
SHIPPING AND RETURNS

Shipping usually takes around 7 days. Shipping costs are determined based on the gallery's location and the size of the artwork. Packaging material costs are included.

Purchases made through Arte Global’s website (www.arteglobal.es) can be canceled within 24 hours. After this period, the purchase is considered final.

Information about the work

Pablo Palazuelo (Madrid, 1915–2007) de la Peña was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and engraver who developed his artistic practice primarily in the mid-20th century. His work is characterized by an analytical approach, the result of his desire to explore the material and symbolic aspects of the universe through geometric language. This 1970 print reflects this, in which the artist freely plays with geometric shapes, mostly open, generating a sense of fluidity, movement, and even musicality. The piece maintains its balance thanks to the use of a single color in the composition: black. The result is a unique and elegant print.

His painting, sculpture, and engraving (including his forays into poetry and art theory) must be understood as a coherent whole. Number, drawing, line, plane, space, and color are essential elements of his creation, serving geometry. Not in vain, the Madrid master studied architecture and embraced painting without abandoning a deep curiosity for ancient philosophy - especially the pre-Socratics -, contemporary physics, as well as hermetic and oriental thought, readings that accompanied him until the end of his life. With the Pythagoreans he shared the idea that mathematics constitutes the language of Nature and the lack of its knowledge entails the inability to know its beauty. "The operation of points, lines, surfaces and colors - declared Palazuelo in 1976 - is long, slow, tortuous, full of errors, blindness, doubts, anguish and danger, but there are also, throughout it, peace, balance, deep satisfaction, pleasure and exhilarating freedom, because it is about ciphering the convergence of the affection of the one who paints with the feeling of nature ”.
