Information about the work

David Morago is a Spanish artist (Madrid, Spain, 1975) who studied Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid. His career has focused primarily on painting, with exhibitions in Spain and other countries since the late 1990s.

His work draws on nature, wildlife, and landscape, rendered through loose brushwork and a strong attention to color. Many of his compositions feature animals, forests, and other natural elements that form part of an imaginary world reminiscent of a cabinet of curiosities.

He has presented his work in institutional venues such as the Madrid Anthropological Museum and the Cecilio Muñoz Fillol Cultural Center, and has taken part in projects at La Casa Encendida. His awards include First Prize in the Gregorio Prieto National Drawing Competition in 2013, First Prize in the Ciudad de Alcázar competition in 2012, and the Virgen de las Viñas Acquisition Award in 2013.
