Alejandra Glez (Cuba, 1996) is a multidisciplinary artist. She uses photography, photomontage, installation, performance, and video art as a vehicle to freely express herself, break taboos, and explore her inner world and her own experiences, as well as those of the women around her, in a search for connection that also involves the viewer. Her work, centered on female identity through carefully crafted staging and resources such as serialization, highlights many of her conflicts, questions, and interests, such as the role of women in today's society, the decoding of the female nude, and the perception of nudity as something natural, among others. Glez has been recognized with numerous awards and scholarships, such as those granted by the Norwegian Embassy in Cuba and the Fugaz: Art of Living residency in Peru in 2018. She has also participated in important projects, such as an exhibition at the CEART in Fuenlabrada, Madrid, in 2019 and her participation as Cuba's representative at the Havana Biennial that same year. In 2021, she received the Young Photography Award from the Enaire Foundation, which includes an exhibition at the Madrid Botanical Garden as part of PHotoESPAÑA.
