Buhlebezwe Siwani (Johannesburg, South Africa, 1987) is a multidisciplinary artist who has gained international recognition for her deeply personal and introspective work. Siwani uses performance, installation, and photography as tools to explore themes of identity, spirituality, and the Black female experience.
Born and raised in South Africa, Siwani's work is deeply influenced by its sociopolitical context. Through her creations, the artist challenges dominant stereotypes and narratives about race, gender, and sexuality. Her work invites reflection on the construction of individual and collective identity in a constantly changing world.
