Saint Augustine (Teruel), 1969.
His work reflects a clear interest in the relationship between human beings and nature: nature versus culture and their implications for the question of identity. With a markedly drawing-like character, it develops from the formal synthesis of processes, materials, and images of natural origin. He uses volume as a prominent resource, establishing conceptual and formal relationships to question the character of things through ambiguous forms, vaporous stains, and blurred boundaries. He uses various disciplines to shape his artistic creations: hand-crafted sculpture in small and medium formats, painting, and drawing, with mystery as the common thread running through his work.
Carlos Domingo began his Fine Arts studies in Valencia, where he currently teaches in the Painting Department at the Polytechnic University, where he holds a PhD in Fine Arts. He is also a member of the Center for Art and Environment Research at the same university.
Since 1993, he has held numerous national and international exhibitions, with a consistent career, delving into a personal universe of images aimed at fostering the viewer's most reflective perspective.
His work has been recognized with the Senyera Painting Prize (2003), the Alfons Roig Creation Grant (2005) and the National Publishing Prize from the Ministry of Culture (2012), among others.
