Carmelo Tedeschi (Enna, Italy, 1978) is a sculptor known for creating unique accessories for conceptual designer Martin Margiela under the name "Line-0." Tedeschi has developed a remarkable understanding of his craft with an approach to the omnipresent material in his works, leather, though almost invisible in the practice of art. These free-standing sculptures display non-orientable surfaces that blend the plane and the sphere, allowing for multiple viewing angles. Made from raw leather, these abstract, hand-carved objects attempt not to represent the exterior but rather the essence of things. His work has been exhibited at the Museo di Santa Giulia, Brescia, and at the Daimler Art Collection in Berlin. His sculpture is on display and has served as a model for the mirrored staircase in Peter Marino's Dior Building by architect Christian de Portzamparc in Seoul.
