Carol Solar is a Chilean contemporary artist born in Santiago in 1979. From a young age, she showed interest in painting and drawing, which led her to study at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile, where she obtained her degree in 2004. During her studies, she also participated in workshops and residencies abroad, in countries such as Spain, Mexico, and the United States. Throughout her career, Carol Solar has experimented with different techniques and materials, but her work primarily focuses on painting. Her work is characterized by the use of vibrant colors and abstract forms, which create dynamic and evocative compositions. The artist is inspired by nature, music, and literature, and her work often conveys a sense of movement and energy. Since her first exhibitions in the 2000s, Carol Solar has exhibited her work in galleries and museums in Chile and abroad. Some of her most notable exhibitions include "The Light of Painting" (Balmaceda Arte Joven Gallery, 2005), "Painting on the Limit" (Quito Contemporary Art Center, 2011), and "Sediment" (Valdivia Contemporary Art Museum, 2017). In addition to her work as an artist, Carol Solar has also worked as an art teacher and participated in public art projects.
