Carolina Valls (Valencia, 1980), a graduate in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, has spent years developing a rigorous study of the idea of mutability, demonstrating that concepts and external factors take precedence over the aesthetics of figures. Thus, reality gives way to abstraction through geometry, giving prominence to lines, ideas, and emotions that are imperceptible to the naked eye. The young Valencian artist has won numerous awards, such as the painting award from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos, an honorable mention in the Painting Award from the Mainel Foundation, and a runner-up for painting at the Isabel Comenge Biennial. She has also been featured in various reviews by national critics such as Román de la Calle and Marcelo Juame. In addition to all this, Carolina's work is present in private and public collections, including the San Pío V Museum (Valencia), the Villafamés Museum (Castellón), the Mainel Foundation, Castellón City Council, the Ciudad Real Provincial Council, as well as CARSA (private foundation, Bilbao) and the Juan José Comenge Foundation. Also noteworthy is her participation in the curated section Solo Show at Art Paris representing Shiras Galería 2019 and her participation in Abierto Valencia 2019, where she was awarded the Makma acquisition prize.
