Cristina de Middel (Alicante, Spain, 1975) is a photographer recognized for her documentary and conceptual photography style that challenges conventions and explores social and cultural themes with a unique perspective. Her work is characterized by a combination of reality and fiction, creating images that provoke reflection and questioning in the viewer. Throughout her career, de Middel has received praise and recognition for her innovative approach to photography. One of her most notable projects is "The Afronauts" (2012), a series that reinterprets the spatial history of Zambia in the 1960s from an alternative visual and narrative perspective.
