Cristina Mejías (Spain, 1986) earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Seville in 2008 and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2010. She works primarily with sculpture, installation, and drawing.

Her work explores identity, memory, and the relationship between humans and nature. She employs organic and abstract forms that evoke the human body and the natural environment in pieces that are both monumental and delicate.

She has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Spain, the United States, Italy, and Mexico, as well as at ARCOmadrid in 2015. She received the Colegio de España Fellowship in Paris in 2011 and the Botín Foundation Fellowship in 2016. She has also taught art at the University of Seville and at UCLA.
