Dia Muñoz is a contemporary artist born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, in 1989. His work focuses on the intersection of science, art, and technology, exploring new creative possibilities from a poetic perspective. He was recently awarded the Dare with Art award, sponsored by Cervezas Alhambra, at the 30th edition of the Estampa contemporary art fair held at IFEMA Madrid. The winning work, entitled Gene Hybrid, is represented by the Ponce+Robles gallery in Madrid. It is a sculpture made using birch plywood and lead-free blown glass. Muñoz is recognized for his ability to create pieces that invite reflection on the relationship between science, technology, and society, and for his skill in capturing complex concepts in visually compelling and poetic works of art. His works often feature a combination of materials and techniques that include digital, technological, and scientific elements.
