He was born in Monesterio, Badajoz, on August 25, 1944.
He is considered the greatest exponent of the so-called dreamlike magical realism, not lacking in enormous realism, beauty and poetry in his paintings.
In 1957 he met his teacher Eduardo Acosta and entered the School of Arts and Crafts in Badajoz, where he remained until 1960.
That same year, he entered the Santa Isabel de Hungría School of Fine Arts in Seville, where he attended until 1961, when he moved to Madrid to complete his training at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts, where he completed his official painting studies.
He has collaborated on the stage design for several plays, including Federico García Lorca's "The House of Bernarda Alba," alongside José Carlos Plaza, in "El Español," and Jorge Márquez's "Make a Story of the Night."
He is an artist who has rarely exhibited in solo exhibitions, although he frequently does so in group exhibitions alongside other great contemporary painters.
His work is represented in numerous public museums and countless private collections, making him one of the most sought-after living Spanish painters.
In 1979, following his famous exhibition at the Biosca gallery: "The Most Important in Culture and Art," he was chosen as "Best Black and White Visual Artist of the Year."
His 1993 retrospective at the Cultural Center of the City of Madrid was visited by almost two hundred and fifty thousand people of different nationalities.
