Elena Asins

Elena Asins was a pioneering Spanish artist in the field of digital art and computer art. Born in Madrid in 1940, Asins studied painting at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts, but in the 1960s, she became interested in geometry and mathematics, which led her to experiment with creating artwork through computer programming. Throughout her career, Asins produced a wide variety of artworks, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, and multimedia pieces, many of which explore the relationship between form, color, and geometry. Her work has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Spain and abroad, and she has received several awards and recognitions, including the Spanish National Prize for Plastic Arts in 2011. Asins is considered a key figure in the development of digital art and computing in Spain, and her work has had a significant influence on subsequent generations of digital artists and creators. He died in 2015 in Madrid, leaving behind an important legacy in the world of contemporary art.
