Georg Baselitz (Germany, 1938 – Austria, 2026) is a contemporary painter, sculptor, and printmaker. His artistic work addresses themes related to identity, history, and trauma.

His technical and formal approach is characterized by the use of inverted portraits, a technique through which he challenges traditional conventions of visual perception. His work combines technical innovation with cultural introspection and shows explicit influences from German Expressionism and modern art.

He has exhibited in museums, and his works are part of institutional collections such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Tate in London, the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, and the Beyeler Foundation in Switzerland. His work is also included in corporate collections such as the Würth Collection and the Hess Collection. Leer menos
