Helen Frankenthaler (Nueva York, 1928 – 2011) fue una influyente pintora estadounidense y una de las figuras centrales del expresionismo abstracto y del movimiento del color field painting. Conocida por su innovadora técnica de “stain painting”, en la que vertía pintura diluida sobre lienzos sin imprimación, Frankenthaler creó composiciones de gran fluidez, transparencia y luminosidad.
