Irene Infantes was born in Seville in 1989 and currently works between Spain and Milan. She studied Textile Design at Central Saint Martins College, University of the Arts London, where she graduated in 2016. Her practice focuses on textiles, working primarily with wool and exploring its uses throughout history. Infantes seeks to revalue a material that was once used as currency, and to do so, she draws inspiration from history, culture, and popular traditions. His work sits at the intersection of art and design, and he has collaborated with companies such as Lego, Christopher Farr, and Lexus Spain. He has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions throughout Europe and the United Kingdom, and his works are part of private and public collections, including the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo, the MKG Museum in Hamburg, the University of the Arts London, and Taka Ishii in Japan.
