Her research concentrates on states that cannot be represented and on what is resistant to representation. The physical form of her work examines the globalization of technology and the concept of visuality. Her work intensifies the physical interaction with devices and their mechanisms, providing an alternative understanding of concepts such as context and desire. Julia participated in the Critical Images research program at Kungl. Konsthögskolan Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, Sweden. She holds a BA in Fine Art and an MA in Art Sculpture from the Royal College of Art in London. Her recent exhibitions have taken place in various international galleries and museums, including the CondeDuque Center for Contemporary Culture in Madrid, the Fundació Suñol in Barcelona, and the KIASMA Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki. She is currently an artist in residence at HANGAR, Centre de producció i recerca d'arts visuals in Barcelona.
