Madola (Barcelona, 1944), the pseudonym of Maria Àngels Domingo Laplana, is a multifaceted artist with a distinguished career in ceramics and sculpture. She trained at the Escola Massana and earned a doctorate in sculpture from the University of Barcelona. Her work continues the tradition of masters such as Josep Llorens Artigas and Antoni Cumella, incorporating new artistic languages without losing the cultural roots of ceramics.
Through clay, color, volume, and form, Madola projects her creations into space, generating symbolic atmospheres based on her experiences. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions internationally, and her work has been featured in museums and urban spaces. Her talent has been recognized with several awards, including the award for best exhibition at the Salvador Espriu Centenary (2015), granted by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Government).
