Michael Craik is a British artist (Edinburgh, Scotland, 1972), whose practice focuses on abstract painting and research into color, repetition, and process. He studied Fine Arts at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen and completed a master’s degree in European Fine Art in Barcelona.

His work is known for sober and contemplative compositions, built through processes of applying and removing paint. Through layers, washes, eroded surfaces, and subtle chromatic variations, Craik explores the relationship between material, time, color, and visual perception.

He has presented exhibitions in contemporary art spaces in Scotland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and the United States. His work has been included in collections such as John Lewis Partnership.
