Miki Leal is a Spanish artist (Seville, Spain, 1974), whose practice develops mainly across painting, drawing, illustration, and ceramics. A graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Seville, he has built a visual imaginary linked to everyday experience, popular culture, music, literature, and art history.

His work is known for the combination of figurative and abstract elements, the expressive use of color, and compositions with a free and fragmented appearance. Through scenes, objects, characters, and diverse cultural references, Leal creates open, narrative, and enigmatic images where humor, memory, and observation of the surrounding world coexist.

His work is part of collections such as the Banco de España Collection, CAAC, CA2M, MUSAC, Artium Museoa, Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga, Fundación “la Caixa”, and the University of Seville. He has presented exhibitions in institutions such as Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo, Espacio Santa Clara, Centro Federico García Lorca, MUSAC, and La Madraza. His awards include the Altadis Prize in 2006, the BMW Painting Prize in 2016, and the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts grant in Rome in 2016.
