Pipo Hernández Rivero
Telde (Gran Canaria), 1966
Pipo Hernandez Rivero's works raise questions about everything
type of cultural certainty. Constructed with anchored images and ideas
In modern culture, his works move in the territory of suspicion
and opacity.
Pointing out the complexity of the possibilities of painting in the 20th century
XXI, his work offers a reconsideration of the pictorial from
formal and conceptual structures under which references lie
to the failure of the cultural avant-garde at the same time as
show that the standardization of certain discourses often
generates exclusion of voices.
Mixing paint with materials of all kinds, and involving texts
in languages that escape our reading, from a panorama
Western, his pieces place us in environments associated with problems
policies, confronting the viewer with a dialogue
resolved and forcing him to rethink the notions of identity and value.
