Rosa Muñoz

Rosa Muñoz is a Spanish visual artist (Madrid, Spain, 1963), recognized for her work in the field of constructed photography. Her work moves away from documentary record to create carefully crafted images in which architecture, memory, and the transformation of space play a central role.

Using real settings that have been altered or reconstructed, Muñoz creates compositions with a theatrical and poetic appearance. In them, she explores the relationship between reality and artifice, presence and absence, as well as the ability of the image to alter our perception of places.

Her work is part of collections such as Centre Pompidou, Comunidad de Madrid, CEART, Colección Circa Pilar Citoler, Colección Arte Alcobendas, Colección Estampa, MACUF, and Museo Municipal de Madrid. She has presented exhibitions in institutions such as Sala Canal de Isabel II, Centro de Arte Tomás y Valiente, Centro Andaluz de la Fotografía, Museo Gas Natural Fenosa, and Fundación Canal.
