Ubay Murillo (Spain, 1978) is a Spanish artist who straddles painting, collage, and installation, combining diverse methodologies and visual solutions from one medium to another and on different supports. A graduate in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna, he has lived and worked between Gran Canaria and Berlin for over a decade. He focuses on the image we have—and project—of the contemporary body following the economic crisis. He also reflects on the very disciplines he works with. Ubay Murillo works with several galleries around the world, including Galería Artizar in Spain, GE Gallery in Mexico, and Galería Constantini in Milan. He has held major exhibitions in Tenerife, Madrid, Santander, Milan, Bremen, Berlin, Santander, and Mexico City, among many other cities, and regularly participates in fairs such as Zona Maco (Mexico City), Art Verona (Verona), Artesantander (Santander), and Estampa (Madrid). His work is part of institutional collections such as CAAM (Atlantic Center of Modern Art, Canary Islands), CajaCanarias collection or Mapfre Foundation (Barcelona).
