Vicenzo Castella (Italy, 1952) is a photographer recognized for his minimalist approach to the social reality that surrounds him. He photographs urban complexes, devoid of museums or avant-garde architectural works. Since 1980, he has exhibited his work in Europe and the United States. In 1991, he published the project "Zona" (photographs from 1983 to 1990). In 1997, he began working on "Città Nomadi," a project focused on contemporary Western cities. His works are held in major public and private archives and collections. He exhibits at the Venice Biennale and the Milan Triennale. Since 1994, he has been working on the project "Edificios," urban portraits taken from very high, but never aerial, positions. He collaborates with Pasquale Leccese's gallery "Le Case d'Arte" in Milan and the "Paul Andriesse Galerie" in Amsterdam.
