MATERIALS AND CARE

 Recommendations for proper conservation of works of art:

  • Keep artwork away from direct sunlight and any other heat sources (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Avoid hanging artwork near areas with smoke and pollution (such as fireplaces or kitchens). We recommend protecting your artwork with a glass frame.

Avoid sudden temperature changes. It is recommended to store paintings in areas with a room temperature of 18-20°C and 50% relative humidity.

If you want to permanently illuminate the work, we recommend using cold light sources. Use a soft duster for periodic cleaning. Never use household cleaners.
SHIPPING AND RETURNS

Shipping usually takes around 7 days. Shipping costs are determined based on the gallery's location and the size of the artwork. Packaging material costs are included.

Purchases made through Arte Global’s website (www.arteglobal.es) can be canceled within 24 hours. After this period, the purchase is considered final.

Rafael Canogar es una figura clave en la evolución del arte español contemporáneo. Cofundador del grupo El Paso en 1957, fue protagonista de la renovación del panorama plástico nacional con un lenguaje informalista de gran potencia expresiva. Su trayectoria, marcada por una constante transformación, ha oscilado entre la abstracción y la figuración, siempre con una impronta personal reconocible. En los años 60, su pintura se tornó crítica y figurativa, incorporando elementos del realismo y del arte pop para abordar temas sociales. A partir de los 70, volvió a la abstracción, reflexionando sobre soportes, materiales y el espacio pictórico. Su obra gráfica, como su pintura, despliega un estilo enérgico, donde el color, la forma y la materia dialogan con la geometría y la emoción. En "Crisol", confirma su capacidad de síntesis entre lo matérico y lo conceptual.

Rafael Canogar is a Spanish artist (Toledo, Spain, 1935), recognized as a key figure in Spanish abstraction in the second half of the 20th century. He trained in Madrid with the painter Daniel Vázquez Díaz and, after early works close to Cubism and Surrealism, took part in the founding of the El Paso group in 1957, together with artists such as Antonio Saura, Manolo Millares, Luis Feito, and Manuel Rivera.

His work has gone through different stages, from the Informalism of his early years to a critical figuration in the 1960s and a later return to abstraction. Through painting, collage, relief, and experimentation with materials such as acrylic, wood, polyester, and fiberglass, Canogar has developed a language focused on matter, gesture, form, and the construction of pictorial space.

His work is part of collections such as the Museo Reina Sofía, Museo de Arte Abstracto Español de Cuenca, MoMA, Fundación Banco Santander, and the Vatican Museums. He has presented exhibitions in institutions such as Museo Reina Sofía, IVAM, the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Madrid. His awards include the National Prize for Visual Arts in 1982, the Commendation of the Order of Isabella the Catholic in 1991, and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2003.
