MATERIALS AND CARE

 Recommendations for proper conservation of works of art:

  • Keep artwork away from direct sunlight and any other heat sources (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Avoid hanging artwork near areas with smoke and pollution (such as fireplaces or kitchens). We recommend protecting your artwork with a glass frame.

Avoid sudden temperature changes. It is recommended to store paintings in areas with a room temperature of 18-20°C and 50% relative humidity.

If you want to permanently illuminate the work, we recommend using cold light sources. Use a soft duster for periodic cleaning. Never use household cleaners.
SHIPPING AND RETURNS

Shipping usually takes around 7 days. Shipping costs are determined based on the gallery's location and the size of the artwork. Packaging material costs are included.

Purchases made through Arte Global’s website (www.arteglobal.es) can be canceled within 24 hours. After this period, the purchase is considered final.

Carmen Calvo Sáenz de Tejada (Valencia, 1950) is a Spanish conceptual artist who, in her mature years, began to integrate photography and collage into her artistic practice. In the print "Infancia IV," this tendency to combine various techniques to achieve a complex and elaborate artistic result is clearly evident. The body at the center of the work resembles a photographic cutout, while the shadows and face simulate drawing techniques. Carmen Calvo Sáenz de Tejada is a Spanish artist born in Valencia in 1950. She studied Advertising at the School of Arts and Crafts in Valencia, and Fine Arts in the same city. Her work is known for the use of many kinds of materials, found objects, altered photographs, ceramics, fired clay, painting, and collage. With these, she creates a visual language close to conceptual art.

Her work deals with themes such as memory, identity, childhood, violence, oppression, women’s inequality, and popular culture. Using images and objects she finds and reuses, Calvo turns everyday items into works full of strangeness, criticism, and reflection. In 1997, she represented Spain at the Venice Biennale together with Joan Brossa, and her work has been shown in institutions such as the Museo Reina Sofía, IVAM, Sala Alcalá 31, the Picasso Museum in Barcelona, and Sala Kubo Kutxa.

Her work is part of collections such as the Museo Reina Sofía, IVAM, MACBA, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Fundación “la Caixa”, Fonds national d’art contemporain in Paris, Banco de España Collection, and MACVAC. Among her confirmed awards are the Alfons Roig Prize from the Valencia Provincial Council in 1989, the National Prize for Visual Arts in 2013, her appointment as a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia in 2014, and the Julio González International Prize in 2022.
