MATERIALS AND CARE

 Recommendations for proper conservation of works of art:

  • Keep artwork away from direct sunlight and any other heat sources (heating, air conditioning, etc.). Avoid hanging artwork near areas with smoke and pollution (such as fireplaces or kitchens). We recommend protecting your artwork with a glass frame.

Avoid sudden temperature changes. It is recommended to store paintings in areas with a room temperature of 18-20°C and 50% relative humidity.

If you want to permanently illuminate the work, we recommend using cold light sources. Use a soft duster for periodic cleaning. Never use household cleaners.
SHIPPING AND RETURNS

Shipping usually takes around 7 days. Shipping costs are determined based on the gallery's location and the size of the artwork. Packaging material costs are included.

Purchases made through Arte Global’s website (www.arteglobal.es) can be canceled within 24 hours. After this period, the purchase is considered final.

Information about the work

Evru, known for decades as Zush, built his own visual world from the late 1960s onward: the Evrugo Mental State. In this universe, identity, the body, and the mind come together as a personal visual system.

In this work, signed as Zush, that universe is brought together in an image with strong contrast. Against a black background, a greyish figure with organic outlines stands out, crossed by thin lines that connect small scattered signs. At the center, a curved yellow-orange form holds the tension of the composition and leads the eye toward an unclear space, suspended between the body and the symbolic.

The work is part of the portfolio published by Galería Joan Prats for its twelfth anniversary, together with prints by around twenty artists linked to the gallery.

Evru, also known as Zush and born Albert Porta, was a Spanish artist born in Barcelona in 1946 and died in 2025. Self-taught, he began his career with the support of gallery owner René Metras. In 1968, he adopted the name Zush and created his own universe, the Evrugo Mental State, with a personal mythology, an invented writing system, and a visual language marked by imagination, the body, the mind, and transformation.

His work included painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, photography, installation, music, digital media, and video. From the 1990s onward, he brought new technologies into his artistic practice and developed projects linked to digital creation, authorship, therapy, and viewer participation. In 2001, during the retrospective held at MACBA, Zush became Evru and defined his new artistic identity as ArtCieMist, a union of artist, scientist, and mystic.

His works are part of collections such as the Museo Reina Sofía, MACBA, MoMA, Centre Pompidou, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. His awards include the National Printmaking Prize in 1997, the Laus Award for PsicoManualDigital in 1999, the Ciutat de Barcelona Award in 2000, and the ACCA Award in 2003.
